Well, spring break is almost behind us, and it’s already starting to feel like summer. But, there are still plenty of fun things to do in Orlando in April:

March 29-April 3: Sun ‘n Fun International Fly-in and Expo, Lakeland. Daily air shows! Plus, educational forums, seminars and “hands-on” workshops.

April 1: April Fools Day – don’t get pranked!

April 2: One of Central Florida’s secondary attractions, Fantasy of Flight, will host their 14th annual Mustangs & Mustangs event.

April 10: Re-enactors for the “Civil War Experience” will inhabit the Orange County Regional History Center to share 19th-century experiences (and desserts) with guests.

April 7-10: Celebration Exotic Car Festival, Kissimmee and Celebration. This four-day event showcases North America’s largest collection of exotic cars, race cars and iconic Hollywood movie cars. Benefits Special Olympics Florida. Free admission.

April 9: Jetport Food and Wine Partypart of the Exotic Car Festival, this party features Chefs from all parts of the country, as well as some of the top restaurants and wineries.

April 8-9: Central Florida Dragon Boat Festival, Tavares. . Activities kick off with the Awakening of the Dragon Ceremony, traditional Dragon/Lion dance and banquet. Action-packed contests begin with a crew of 20 paddlers led by the loud, steady beat of the drummer. As the long and colorful boats compete, an ancient rite is revisited, all in the spirit of charity and fun.

April 8-10: Balloon and Sky Fest, New Smyrna Beach. Hot-air balloons rides, sky diving, helicopter rides, music and more. At New Smyrna Airport U.S. Hwy 1. $5 per vehicle.

April 9-10: The 2011 Great American Pie Festival (sponsored by Crisco) at Lakeside Park in Celebration, Yum!

April 15: Moonlight Carillon Concert at Bok Tower Gardens, Lake Wales. Visitors can stroll the meditative garden paths and find a spot to relax and enjoy the hour-long carillon concert under the light of the full moon.

April 16-17: Blues at the Winery, Clermont. For those who enjoy sipping a glass of Lakeridge wine and listening to ‘The Blues’. $2 donation.

April 23: 44th Annual Run Forrest, Run! Easter Beach Run, Daytona Beach. The course will be run at low tide on the hard-packed sand of Daytona Beach. All races start at the Daytona Beach Pier. Registration available by mail, online, in person and on race day.

April 24: Easter Sunrise Service at Bok Sanctuary, Lake Wales. Easter morning worshipers are invited to greet the dawn of this special day atop peninsular Florida’s highest point, as the sunrise is heralded with music from the sanctuary’s 60-bell Singing Tower carillon and the Lake Wales Chorale

Continuing until April 23: Universal Studios Mardi Gras, Orlando. The concerts and Mardi Gras celebration is still going on! You can enjoy this event thru April 23rd.

Continuing until May 15: Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. Spring special event filled with flowers, topiaries, gardens, educational events and live music.

Late April: Watch for the new killer-whale show, “One Ocean” at SeaWorld Orlando.
