Treasure Tavern is Orlando’s newest dinner show, opened in 2010. Located within the Pirate’s Dinner Adventure complex, this 2-hour show is very entertaining. One of the things different about this show is that it is ‘adults only’. It’s a nice break from all the kid-oriented Central Florida attractions, theme parks and shows. The talented staff is wonderful, and the improv comedy is hilarious with a lot of sexual innuendo, without being crude or vulgar. There are several sketches that bring audience members on stage, as well as ones that simply use an idea the audience throws out. The audience participation is great and the performers really know how to interact with the crowd. Definitely not a place to go when you want to spend a lot of time talking to the people you’re with, it’s an interactive show, not a quiet dinner. The comedy sketches occur during non-eating times, and the other performers come out with the food, which is a very good set-up. While the only break from any performance comes with the main course, it’s not difficult to both eat and enjoy what was happening on stage.
The show itself is Broadway-style live entertainment including the Rum Girls cabaret, Acrobats, contortionists, and magic acts. The show’s entertainment rotates based on seasonal availability of entertainment acts. This is great because you can go back again and again and the show will be different each time.
The menu is a 3-course meal consisting of a nice garden salad, slow-roasted Prime Rib with choice of loaded baked or mashed potato, and asparagus with hollandaise sauce. Ala carte appetizers are available also. Opera cake is served for dessert. There are vegetarian options available as well. Drinks are not free and unlimited like other dinner shows; only one rum punch and water is included in the price. The drinks are high-priced, like most of the Orlando attractions; however, having to pay for drinks is no reason not to attend. Just know this ahead of time and be prepared.
The show runs Nightly Tuesday thru Saturday. Treasure Tavern is located at the Pirates Dinner Theater (2 separate shows), so be sure to walk around to the right entrance. They also offer the option of dinner and show or no dinner. So, you could even catch both shows, and not have to have 2 dinners. Dress is smart casual, no shorts or tank tops. Check their website for Florida resident specials, if you’re a Floridian. They also have a birthday special where the Birthday person gets in free with a full-paying guest. They offer group specials for parties 10 or more and private shows and a private reception area is available as well. It’s a great adult evening out!
