If you’re a fan of the Star Wars series you should plan a trip to Orlando for the fifth anniversary of this huge event. The Star Wars Celebration will be held August 12-15 at the Orlando Convention Center. Although a bit pricey ($48.00 1-day pass) Star Wars fans should get their money’s worth with many events, memorabilia, celebrity guests and so much more.
Saturday August 14th is the highlight of the special events during the celebration. Jon Stewart host of the Daily Show with John Stewart conduct a live on-stage interview with George Lucas the creator of the Star Wars saga. Log on to www.starwarscelebration.com and go to the events section and you can submit questions for either of these two galactic stars.
Costumed characters from the highly successful series will be in attendance for one-on-one encounters with the characters you love and those you love to hate. A special art section is part of this year’s festivity with prints available of some of your favorite Star Wars characters and scenes. Over fifteen artists will be on hand displaying art that runs the gamut of cartoonish, life-like portraits and even impressionistic pieces on display and for sale.
Definitely hit the exhibition hall – you will be amazed by the size of the list of exhibitors and all the Star Wars themed merchandise. Exhibitors trying to out-do one another make for an interesting display. For many who attend this event this is the highlight of the celebration.
