Contribute to Orlando Tourism

We recently discovered an Orlando Tourism website which has been designed with the average Orlando tourist in mind. It is an informative guide to help visitors plan their dream Orlando vacation. The site covers nearly every aspect of Orlando tourism and also invites visitors to submit their contributions and reviews of all the top Orlando attractions, hotels, bars and clubs.

Unlike our website, Orlando Tourist Tips, this site also provides visitors with a free chat room in which one of their editors are often logged on to answer your Orlando holiday based questions. You can also discuss your holiday plans with other Orlando holidaymakers and share tips and stories.

It is always good news when every visitor to Orlando has the best trip they possibly can. The Orlando tourism industry has thrived on being informative and people going out of their way to ensure guests enjoy their Florida vacation – after all, this is how Walt Disney himself wanted it to be!

After reading about what interests you on our website, check out this new Orlando tourism website – review-your-orlando.com. Contribute to it and most importantly have a great vacation in Orlando and continue to boost the Orlando tourism industry!

Orlando Tourism News You Can Use

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter continues to affect the Orlando tourism scene, although it has not even been two months since officially coming on the scene. The Walt Disney Company announced plans to do some retooling to the highly anticipated major renovation of Fantasy Land in the Magic Kingdom Orlando. Recent reports have Disney lessening the heavy use of Princesses as a major point of emphasis. The Princess theme originally planned on for the rebirth of Fantasy Land while highly attractive to young girls, has no appeal to boys in the same age range. While Disney says it has nothing to do with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I myself am skeptical of the reported reasons. With less than a year to go until the debut of the new Fantasy Land, Disney attendance is down and Universal Orlando’s attendance is skyrocketing. It should be obvious to theme park insiders that it has everything to do with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Disney also announced that it is opening a new Star Tours attraction in 2011 at both Disney Land in California and Disney World in Florida. The attraction will continue to be located between the two sets of the Star Wars Trilogies.

Notable anniversaries: the California Grill celebrated its fifteenth with very little fanfare; after all it is the most popular fine dining restaurant at Walt Disney World and in little need of promotion. I suggest if you go make reservations as far in advance as possible to get reservations and one of those coveted window tables. Capone’s Dinner & Show passed its 18th anniversary in August quietly. Plans are to celebrate Capone’s 20th anniversary in 2012 with a new show and an anniversary celebration.

Orlando Tourism News Update

Universal Orlando, for the first time in nearly two years, posted an increase in visitors (even slightly ahead of their 2008 numbers). Thanks to the opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Universal posted strong numbers even though the last month of their quarter was in June and that’s when the Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened. The Orlando bed tax which had been on a slide, regained momentum in both occupancy and rate increases in June adding up to an increase of 9% in tourism tax collections. June was the first month since February 2010 where year over year tourism taxes increased from 2009.

Universal Orlando mostly matched Disney’s price increases of last week. Notably it did not raise the price on its most popular ticket option – a two day ticket with park to park privileges. That ticket stayed the same at $145.00. As the summer tourism season winds down, Universal elected to keep Florida resident tickets purchased on-line the same.

Walt Disney World opened a new restaurant in EPCOT Center at the Italian Pavilion a casual family style restaurant. The interior is decorated in sleek Italian fashion. I predict it will be the most popular theme park restaurant in Orlando. So book reservations for Via Napoli soon and enjoy. Disney will also start selling tickets for its candle light processional starting August 26th. The candlelight processional is a long standing holiday tradition at Walt Disney World. Originally it was at the Magic Kingdom, but about a decade ago, they moved it to Epcot Center. The dinner package has some added benefits including guaranteed seating for the candlelight processional and a dedicated area for viewing fireworks. Call 407-WDW-Dine to book this truly uplifting event.

Last week a sting was conducted on Hwy. 192 netting five arrests for fraudulent ticket sales of Disney, Universal and Sea World tickets. Hopefully this new enforcement in Osceola County will lead other unscrupulous ticket sellers to ditch the garish signage on Hwy. 192 screaming they buy left-over days on your tickets.
