Discount Tickets When Donating Food Items

I’m always thankful when I find businesses that help contribute to the local food banks. The closer we get to Thanksgiving, more and more people become aware of the huge need to fill the shelves for the less fortunate. Recently I was made aware of two local attractions that are collecting nonperishable food items in exchange for discounted tickets. As I become aware of more Central Florida attractions helping out, I’ll add them to this article.

Fantasy of Flight, an attraction off I-4 in Polk County is discounting tickets by $5 from October 1st to November 10th. Admission is generally $28.95 for adults and $14.95 for children ages 6-12. Every person in your group must bring a food item to qualify for the discount. Upon arrival, bring the food to the attractions’ admissions counter. The rice, pasta, canned fruits and vegetables collected will benefit The Mission of Winter Haven.

Ripley’s Believe it or Not Odditorium attraction on International Drive will also be collecting nonperishable food items. This does not start, however, until November 6 and only lasts five days; until November 10th. You must bring 5 food items and when you do, your ticket into the “odditorium” will only cost $5. The regular price for adults is $19.99 (online $16.99) and children ages 4 – 12 is $11.99 (online $9.99). The deal is – five days, five items, five dollars. They call it the “Gimme Five” campaign. Suggested food items include pasta, tomato sauce, juice, soup, beans, tuna, cereal, canned fruits and veggies and baby food. It will all be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

If you know of any other Orlando area attractions helping out the food banks, please leave a comment to this post. I would be most happy to add it into the list. Enjoy the attractions. Rejoice that you have food. All while helping those who struggle to put food on their tables.

Teens ride FREE at Disney track!

You don’t get much for free these days, especially from Walt Disney World, so you and your teen may want to take advantage of this special offer.  The Richard Petty Driving Experience at the Walt Disney World Speedway is offering a new “Teens Ride FREE” program.  The program lets teens ages 14-19 enjoy a three-lap high-speed ride along with an adult purchase of any drive or ride program on the same day.  The program is available at almost all of the Richard Petty Driving Experience tracks, so you can also do this at the famous Daytona International Speedway track here in Central Florida.   Definitely something fun and memorable that you can do with your teen….

Discount Ticket Web Site

ScoreBig.com, a new web site devoted to discount tickets at sporting events and concerts, is now online!

The great recession has hit sporting events and concerts who typically do not want to offer discounts to their branded events even as many seats sat empty. Sports franchises and concerts have instead attempted to increase revenue through price increases. Big name concerts have been cancelled as the recession ate into disposable income.

Enter a new invitation-only web site www.ScoreBig.com; visit the site to request an invitation and then you can bid on seats at major concerts and sporting events much like Priceline.com popularized bidding on hotel rooms. Deals of fifty to seventy percent off regular prices of tickets to events never before discounted are not uncommon. So go ahead and visit ScoreBig.com and request an invitation. Great deals like this probably will not last forever so grab them while you can!

See a ball game or a concert at deeply discounted prices for a memory that can last a life time.
